We have a couple things we need to ask for your help with. As you know, we're having the 3rd Annual House of the Christmas Mouse on Saturday, December 5th and the purpose is to help kids recognize, realize, and rejoice in the True Meaning of Christmas. (http://www.syia.org/houseofthechristmasmouse.html)
We'd like to fill the stage in the fellowship hall at Strasburg Christian Church with activities celebrating the birth of Jesus from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the only thing we have so far is a puppet show and the reading of some Christmas stories.
If you have a skit or play or someone who can lead carols or some soloists or instrumentalists, we'll promote your group really well... anything that could fill 20 minutes to an hour with a lively celebration of Christ's birth.
We also need volunteers for the Living Nativity so we can keep it going all day.
Also, as you know that with the economy being the way it is, there's more of a demand for meeting the needs of children this Christmas... I know you already have your own projects you work on, but if you could help us collect items for the Secret Shoppe, we could give out more gift certificates to the schools this year for the teachers to give out to kids they know have needs... then these kids can shop for free for family members.
We're looking for new or used items people have laying around their homes... maybe things they were given that they don't use or stuff they find at great sale prices or even things they don't use anymore like:
costume jewelry * hair ties, headbands, barrettes, bows, etc., * neckties, bowties * coffee mugs * candles * potpourri * fancy soaps, or still full bottles of cologne, after-shave, or perfume * wall decor * gourmet coffee * candies * decorative handtowels or pot holders * makeup (not used) * pens, desk sets, or electric pencils * tools * music cds, dvds, videos, video game cartridges * stuffed animals in good, clean condition * small toys * gloves, hats, mittens, scarves * ladies dress scarves * men's handkerchiefs * watches * picture frames * doilies * napkin rings, cloth napkins * salt & pepper shakers * spoon rests * silk flowers * tie tacks, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, * ankle bracelets * nail polishes in still full bottles * slippers * knick-knacks or other small trinkets * baby toys like rattlers or even booties and bibs * or any other small item AND, Christmas gift wrap, tape, bags, bows, or boxes
I can't thank you enough for even considering this request.

at 8 p.m. GUITAR DUO Frank Vignola and Gene Bertoncini
Gene and Frank return to play together at the Theatre after far too long an absence. Jazz Scene; “It seems that only beautiful sounds emanate from Gene Bertoncini’s guitar,” says The New Yorker. Of Frank Vignola, The New York Times said “[he] is one of the brightest of the young guitar stars”; a review in The Boston Globe commented, “How versatile is Frank Vignola? He’s collaborated with Lionel Hampton and Madonna, covers Mozart and Black Sabbath on the same record and is one of Les Paul’s favorite guitarists.”
